J.D. Drew Sitting Out Second Straight Contest

The Red Sox will be without J.D. Drew for the second straight game when they finish a three-game series with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Wednesday afternoon.

Drew will once again be replaced in right field by Darnell McDonald. McDonald, a late substitute when Drew was scratched just prior to first pitch Tuesday, went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in the Sox' 4-2 victory.

McDonald, Eric Patterson and Jeremy Hermida will comprise the outfield from right to left. Patterson is giving Mike Cameron a scheduled day off and will be playing center field for the first time since he dropped a fly ball to break up Jon Lester's perfect game bid on Saturday in Seattle.

Hermida is starting in left for the fifth straight time. He committed an error but also had the game's only outfield assist Tuesday night.

For the third consecutive game, Boston manager Terry Francona employs Kevin Youkilis in the third spot in the lineup and David Ortiz in the cleanup role in his effort to wake the slumbering offense.

Ortiz should find plenty of success in that spot Wednesday. He is 11-for-25 (11.-for-25) with three home runs, 12 RBIs and 12 walks against Angels right-hander Joel Pineiro.

The rest of the Red Sox starters are a combined 20-for-77 (.260) vs. Pineiro.

Here is the complete Boston lineup:

Marco Scutaro, SS
Darnell McDonald, RF
Kevin Youkilis, 1B
David Ortiz, DH
Victor Martinez, C
Adrian Beltre, 3B
Jeremy Hermida, LF
Bill Hall, 2B

Facing Beckett will be:

Erick Aybar, SS
Maicer Izturis, DH
Alberto Callaspo, 3B
Bobby Abreu, RF
Hideki Matsui, LF
Howard Kendrick, 2B
Mike Napoli, 1B
Bobby Wilson, C
