Teams have not been in major rushes to sign their first-round draft picks this summer, but the Patriots took care of theirs on Wednesday, signing cornerback Devin McCourty. It was reported earlier on Wednesday, but the team officially announced the signing later in the day.

The only other 2010 first-round pick to have signed a contract thus far is Dez Bryant.

The team did not release details of the deal, but ESPN.com's Mike Reiss reported it is a five-year pact worth between $7.825 million and $13.2 million.

The team also released linebacker Shawn Crable. He was drafted in 2008, but injuries have kept him from contributing on the field in any way.
