Lars Anderson will make his major league debut and play first base for the Red Sox when they begin a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night.

Anderson, one of the top slugging prospects in the organization, has hit .274 with 15 home runs and 69 RBIs in 130 games between Triple-A Pawtucket and Double-A Portland this season. He hit .303 in July and .305 in August for the PawSox.

The Pawtucket-heavy lineup also features Daniel Nava batting leadoff for the first time in his career. Marco Scutaro, the regular leadoff hitter, continues to be bothered by a sore shoulder and is scheduled to receive an MRI on Tuesday.

Former PawSox infielder Yamaico Navarro will make his second straight start at shortstop in place of Scutaro.
