Darrelle Revis Still Bothered by Hamstring Injury, Could Miss Week 6 Game Against Broncos

Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is walking the fine line of a hamstring injury, and is again teetering toward the sidelines.

Following the Jets exciting win over the Vikings on Monday, Revis complained of soreness in the muscle. Head coach Rex Ryan told reporters he wasn't sure whether or not Revis could start in the Jets' upcoming matchup against the Broncos on Sunday, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Revis started in his first game since Week 2 on Monday night, dogging Vikings receiver Percy Harvin around the field. Randy Moss — who Revis was covering in Week 2 when he initially strained the muscle — was defended by Antonio Cromartie.

Ryan was quick to mention that they wouldn't be giving Revis a break for the Denver game just because the Jets have a bye week in Week 7. While it's still early in the season, Ryan's main focus is winning and he knows the Jets are most capable of carrying out that goal when Revis is in the game.

"If he's healthy, we want to play Darrelle," Ryan said. "It's not vacation time. It's time to beat somebody. This is an AFC opponent and we need to win games so we can get into the postseason. That would be my thought. Is he going to be better three weeks from now if we don't play him or all that? I think that still has to be determined."

While Revis said the hamstring was consistently bothering him throughout Monday's game, Ryan said it wasn't evidenced from his performance. In fact, the head coach was considering pushing him even more against Minnesota. At the end of the day, however, Ryan says he's not putting Revis out on the field unless he knows his cornerback is 100 percent healthy.

"We wouldn't have put him out there if we didn't think he was healthy," Ryan said. "Hopefully, this injury is not that big a deal."
