David Price Lacks Control, Takes Loss in ALDS Opener Against Texas Lefty David Price could not hold his own on the mound Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, so the Rays look to upcoming starters James Shields and Matt Garza to keep their postseason dreams alive.

Price had trouble against the Rangers stacked lineup, and it didn't help that he was throwing against Cliff Lee, one of the best lefties in the league. Lee matched his postseason best mark, allowing just five hits and striking out ten batters. Price had his chance, but earned the Game 1 loss, so he hands the ball over to Shields and Garza to hopefully straighten the series out.

Thursday night's scheduled starters are Shields matching up against C.J. Wilson for the Rangers, Florida better hope that Wilson has an off-night or else they will be down 2-0 heading into game three.

The offense needs work as well for Tampa Bay. As the power behind the Rays' offensive lineup, the bats of Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria, Jason Bartlett, Ben Zobrist and B.J. Upton need to prove that they are not giving up quite yet.
