Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano knows that how to keep a locker room loyal — back up your players.

Linebacker Channing Crowder had made headlines for his "Anne Frank-Helen Keller rant" regarding an incident in Sunday's game in which Ravens running back Le'Ron McClain allegedly spat in his face.

Sparano told the Miami Herald that the headline shouldn't be about Crowder, but about McClain.

"This deal about spitting in somebody's face, nowhere in this game do I see any place for that," he said.

He also said on Monday that there was evidence of the disputed spitting, and that he would pass it along.

Such evidence later emerged, but it isn't entirely clear whether McClain is headbutting Crowder or spitting in his face.
