Vote: Will Tiger Woods Win a Major in 2011? Tiger Woods last won a major title with his famous limping playoff win over Rocco Mediate at the 2008 U.S. Open. Surely, a lot has happened since then, but in 2010, Woods failed to win a single tournament for the first time in his professional career.

Granted, he took a lot of time off to sort out his personal life, but when he was playing, he was usually off his game. Still, he did show flashes of his former self, and after rehabilitating his image somewhat and again revamping his swing, 2011 looks more promising. For what it's worth, he even has enough confidence in his persona to be on Twitter now.

Past history also favors Tiger. He's failed to win majors only in 1998, 2003, 2004, 2009 and 2010 — and only in 1998 was he not fixing his swing or recovering from injury. The competition also isn't all that stiff. Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood have emerged as new threats to Woods, but neither has yet been able to come through in a major. The void left by Tiger Woods is still most likely to be filled by Tiger Woods. Also, though Woods clearly didn't have his best golf, he was able to compete at the Masters simply because of how suited the course is to his game. At Augusta, he's always a good bet.
