Wizards Play Without John Wall, Start Tough Backcourt Against Celtics

As expected, the Washington Wizards will be without John Wall on Wednesday night as they visit the TD Garden to take on the Celtics.

But the Wizards will be just fine in his absence. Without Wall, who suffered a sprained foot on Saturday night in Chicago, the Wiz will turn to a starting backcourt of Gilbert Arenas and Kirk Hinrich, a pair of savvy veterans more than capable of picking up the slack.

Arenas is a three-time All-Star that can take over a game with his raw scoring ability, and Hinrich is a versatile combo guard, solid on both ends, that can hit big shots when needed. The Wizards have a lethal combination of speed, athleticism and shot-making at the guard positions, even without the dazzling rookie Wall.

The Celtics' Rajon Rondo will have his hands full with Arenas. "Agent Zero" went off for 30 points off the bench Saturday night when Wall went down, and he added 20 on Tuesday night against the Toronto Raptors. He'll be the go-to scorer for the Wizards on Wednesday night in Boston.

Here's the full lineup card for Celtics-Wizards:

Celtics
Rajon Rondo, PG
Ray Allen, SG
Paul Pierce, SF
Kevin Garnett, PF
Shaquille O'Neal, C

Wizards
JaVale McGee, C
Andray Blatche, PF
Al Thornton, SF
Kirk Hinrich, SG
Gilbert Arenas, PG
