Vote: Do the Yankees or Red Sox Have a Better Projected 2011 Lineup? Now that the Red Sox have Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez, many experts are anointing Boston as the American League’s offensive powerhouse in 2011.

The addition of Crawford and Gonzalez to a healthy Sox lineup will make many pitching staff quivers, but is Boston’s offense better than New York’s?

Whether Crawford or Jacoby Ellsbury — or neither — bat leadoff next summer, the Red Sox will be considered one of the fastest and most balanced teams heading into the regular season. Terry Francona may have a difficult time finding the right order to put together, but when he pieces together a cohesive blend, the Red Sox could resemble the offensive juggernaut known as the Boston Beaneaters, who scored 1,220 runs in 1894 (when the game was slightly different than it is today).

The Yanks, who scored an MLB-high 859 runs in 2010, will once again rely on Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson and Nick Swisher.

The Red Sox will match up with Ellsbury, Crawford, Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia, Kevin Youkilis and David Ortiz — in some form or another, and alongside a slew of important role players.

But which team has a better projected 2011 lineup?
