Mark Wahlberg Appears on Cover of Sports Illustrated in Honor of ‘The Fighter’

Mark Wahlberg has earned a Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Mickey Ward in The Fighter, and now, that part has taken him all the way to the cover of Sports Illustrated.

Wahlberg and co-star Christian Bale will be featured on the “Year in Sports Media” issue in which their film is named “sports movie of the decade.”

The native Bostonian is just one of few non-athletes ever to make the cover — swimsuit issue aside.
