FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots linebacker Tully Banta-Cain returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday’s session with the flu, and quarterback Tom Brady was out there for the second consecutive day in preparation for the season finale against Miami.

Tight end Aaron Hernandez (hip) and linebacker Jermaine Cunningham (calf) were doing some additional workouts with trainers when the team broke off into positional drills. Neither injury is expected to be serious, but this was a sign that they’re still working to overcome their respective ailments.

Defensive lineman Ron Brace (elbow), right guard Dan Connolly (concussion) and defensive lineman Mike Wright (concussion) were the only players missing from Thursday’s practice, which was held outside in sweats and shells.
