Glen Wesley Was the Last Bruins Defenseman to Notch a Hat Trick Before Zdeno Chara

There have been only four Bruins' defensemen in the history of the franchise to notch three goals in one game — also known as a hat trick.

Zdeno Chara joined the storied crew of Boston defensemen on Monday, when he tallied his first career hat trick in a 7-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Thursday's The Fours Question of the Day asked who was the last Bruins defenseman to notch a hat trick before Chara.

While most would assume that it was the legendary Ray Bourque, it in fact was Glen Wesley, who tallied a hat trick for the B's in 1993. Bourque and Bobby Orr are the only other Boston defenseman that posted hat tricks in their career.
