The Patriots' defensive line has taken another hit, as rookie lineman Brandon Deaderick has been suspended.

According to ESPN.com's Mike Reiss, the Patriots suspended Deaderick for a violation of team rules, though there is no word on what violation he breached, or how long he will be suspended for.

Reiss also noted that New England released Deaderick's former Alabama teammate, Lorenzo Washington, from its practice squad on Monday. There is no word as to whether these two actions are related.

Deaderick has dressed for ten games this season with the Patriots, posting 17 tackles and two sacks. The lineman has not seen significant playing time since Nov. 25.

The Patriots brought in four defensive lineman to try out on Monday, working with Le Kevin Smith, Alfonso Boone, Ryan Sims and Atiyyah Ellison.
