Vernon Davis Not Missing Mike Singletary, Wants Kyle Orton to Be 49ers Quarterback

Mike Singletary made his first splash as an NFL head coach when he kicked an undisciplined Vernon Davis off the field, which resulted in a career turnaround for the talented tight end.

Singletary, the former Bears linebacker and now former 49ers coach, failed to get as much out of his team as expected — often screaming at his players but rarely producing sound gameplans or wins against decent teams.

The "sending to the showers" incident apparently didn't do much to make Davis a fan of the recently fired coach.

He was caught on the street by TMZ, and when asked if he missed his former coach, he responded with a definitive "No."

He then told the gossip website that no super-fans had ever accosted him in an airport restroom, after the reporter inquired into such.

Davis was also asked about Kyle Orton as a potential replacement for Alex and Troy Smith as 49ers quarterback. He answered by confessing his love for Orton, and by calling for him to come to the Bay Area.
