Vote: Which Is the Best Active Coaching Family in the NFL? With Jim Harbaugh now in charge on the 49ers sidelines, 2011 will have a “HarBowl” to go along with the annual “Manning Bowl.”

Jim and John Harbaugh are now the only duo of brothers to be coaching in the NFL at the same time, and both are considered among the best at their trade, but are they the Harbaughs the best coaching family in the NFL right now?

There fiercest competition likely comes from the Ryans, Rex and Rob. Two defensive masterminds following in the footsteps of a mastermind father, Rex and Rob have made names for themselves as superb game-planners and play-callers. Both — but Rex in particular — have also gained notoriety for their mouths too.

The Shanahans may be the other closest competitors to the Harbaughs. While Kyle Shanahan has yet to be more than his father’s offensive coordinator, such is an impressive role for a man just 31 years of age. His father, of course, has a resume as long as any — including two Super Bowl rings.

Then, there are the other possibilities, though most aren’t currently in the NFL. The Moras, Jim and Jim, Jr. both coached in the NFL this past decade; as did the Kiffins, Lane and Monty, and the Grudens, Jon and Jay.
