With March 3 quickly approaching, NFL teams are left to make last-minute decisions leading up to that point when the current collective bargaining agreement expires. The Jets made some of those decisions on Monday by releasing four well-known veterans.

According to Manish Mehta of The New York Daily News, the Jets are set release offensive tackle Damien Woody, linebacker Jason Taylor, defensive tackle Kris Jenkins and defensive end Vernon Gholston.

While the roster cuts may seem drastic, it doesn't necessarily mean that those players won't be back with the Jets if and when the 2011 season begins.

New York could bring back any of those four players at a reduced salary, and they could wait to do so once a new labor agreement is ironed out.
