Troy Murphy, Leon Powe, Rasheed Wallace Among Top 10 Players on NBA Buyout Market

The Celtics cast off three pieces of their rotation for virtually nothing on Thursday afternoon, and it looked fishy at first. They unloaded Marquis Daniels, Semih Erden and Luke Harangody for little more than a wad of cash and a draft pick, leaving them severely shorthanded for the stretch run. The playoffs are now on the horizon, and Doc Rivers is playing with 12 guys instead of 15.

Do the C’s have a trick or two up their sleeve?

Of course they do. Over the next couple of days, non-contending teams around the league will look to trim fat from their payrolls, and we’ll begin to see a buyout market loaded with solid players to help the contenders. Danny Ainge and the Celtics will be right in the thick of that.
