"Wild Thing" Rickey Vaughn could be on his way back to the mound.

The suddenly massively popular Charlie Sheen has previously said that he'd be "ready, willing and totally down" to play Vaughn in the fourth installment of the Major League movie series. Now, the fans have agreed.

CNBC's sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted Saturday that more than two-thirds of the people that posted their opinions would invest in Major League 4, wishing to see "Wild Thing" rock his goofy glasses one more time.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheen would play the role as a mentor to the young Cleveland Indians.

Sheen wants it. The fans want it. Even director and writer of the original David S. Ward wants it, but all the pieces have to be together for the fourth installment.

"There is no movie without Wild Thing," said Ward.

"Charlie is interested in doing it," he added. "We're taking the first steps on it. Now it's just a matter of putting the movie together in the timeframe we have. Charlie has a window coming up."

Sheen has maintained his popularity since 2003 with Two and a Half Men, but recently he revitalized his popularity with his "winning" interview with anchor Andrea Canning. The interview has reached nearly 3.5 million hits in just more than a week of being posted on YouTube.
