The Blue Jays are continuing to rebuild under new manager John Farrell, and they now may be turning their attention to adding some more starting pitching depth.

According to Joe Christensen of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Jays are expressing interest in Twins right-handed pitcher Kevin Slowey. According to Christensen, Toronto had three scouts at a recent Minnesota game.

He also reported that the Jays have expressed interest in Slowey, and the team has plenty of relievers that they could offer the Twins in a deal for the 26-year-old. Minnesota's bullpen was hit hard this offseason, and Joe Nathan is coming off of surgery.

Slowey is known mostly for his impressive control. In 473 1/3 career innnings, Slowey has only issued 79 walks. The 2005 second-round pick set a career high with 13 wins in 2010. His best season, though, may have been in 2008 when he set a career high in innings pitched while posting a pair of shutouts.
