Vancouver Canucks forward Raffi Torres spent two minutes in the sin bin on Sunday night for his hit on Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook, but that's the only penalty he'll be facing for the gruesome play.

According to TSN, the NHL's Hockey Operations department said Monday that Rule 48, which states in part that the area behind the net is designated as a "hitting area," was not violated.

It wasn't the ideal time for Torres to step into the spotlight with a questionable play as it was the forward's first game back after serving a four-game suspension for a similar hit on Edmonton's Jordan Eberle on April 5.

Check out the hit from Game 3 below.
