Donald Trump Treats Nick Mangold Like an Intern, As Jets Center Looks for Work During NFL Lockout

For many NFL stars, reality is starting to set in that they’re staring a life without football right in the face. Some are beginning the search for a new career.

Among them is Nick Mangold, the Jets’ center who signed an eight-year, $57 million contract last summer. It included a $6 million signing bonus, but he obviously won’t see much of that money if he can’t play football. So the 27-year-old made a trip to Manhattan to work for Donald Trump.

The Donald treated Mangold like an intern, having him take phone calls and fetch the boss a soda. As he does in the trenches, Mangold held his own, but he’ll probably want to stick to his day job. The scraggly beard and surfer hairdo just don’t look right in the Trump Tower.
