1915 Boston Red Sox
Record: 101-50
Finish: 1st in American League, Won World Series over Philadelphia Phillies
Manager: Bill Carrigan
Best Player: Tris Speaker (.322, 12 triples, 69 RBIs, 29 stolen bases)
Best Pitcher: Ernie Shore (19-8, 1.64 ERA, 102 K's)
Breakdown: The 1915 season featured another World Series championship for the Red Sox, this one with the help of a young dual-position player by the name of George Herman Ruth. The Babe hit above .300 at the plate, but his contributions were more notorious on the mound where he went 18-8 with a 2.44 ERA in 217 2/3 innings of work. Not bad for someone who is remembered mainly for his slugging prowess.
