Bruins Fan Shares Bobby Orr's Legendary Goal With His Mother on Mother's Day Editor’s note: NESN.com is asking Bruins fans to share their favorite Bruins memory. Rob George shares this memory.

I was 15 years old, my parents were season ticket holders at the old Garden from 1966 to 1974. Our seats were section 111, row 3, seats 3 and 4. In those days everybody was a family, it was always the same people at each and every game, not like today. But my best memory was on May 10, 1970, I asked my dad that morning who was going to the game that afternoon. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind, the Bruins were going to win and receive that Stanley Cup. My dad responded that he and my mother were going.  Needless to say, this 15-year-old had a sad look on his face. After some thinking, my dad suggested that me and my mother go, and he would watch it on TV.

The rest is history. I am not sure that I really understood the importance of the day, not only for the Bruins, but for me and my mother too. She has now passed, and I do not miss any opportunity to let everyone know that I was at that game, saw Bobby Orr fly through the air, to win the Stanley Cup. But more importantly, I was there on May 10, 1970, on Mother’s Day, with my mother.

I know that my mother is now looking down, and sees the talent on this version of the Bruins. She loved hockey, and knows that they will return back to NHL stardom. I now watch the Bruins with my children, and I think they have listened to this story time and time again, but they always allow me to say it one more time.
