Chicago Beer Vendors Struggling to Stay Afloat, As Attendance Suffering Greatly at Wrigley Field, U.S. Cellular Field

Talk about party poopers.

Last month, Bleacher Report released a list of the 13 best MLB stadiums to party in. Wrigley Field made the cut at No. 12, but apparently nobody told Chicago Cubs fans or the Wrigley Field vendors.

Another dismal baseball season has led to small crowds, and even smaller sales for vendors in Wrigley. On the south side at U.S. Cellular Field, things aren’t much better, as the White Sox have suffered as well, according to the Chicago Tribune.

“We do about 30 percent less loads [cases] than we used to,” Rich Harris, a vendor for the Cubs and White Sox since 1982, told the Tribune. “That says it all.”

Both the Cubs and White Sox have seen attendance drop dramatically this season. The Cubs are seeing their lowest attendance numbers since 2002, while the White Sox are averaging fewer than 24,000 fans for the first time since 2004, according to Baseball-Reference.com.
