There wasn't much talk about Kevin Youkilis being an All-Star snub when rosters were released last weekend. On Friday night, though, the third baseman found out he would, indeed, be heading to Phoenix for the Midsummer Classic.

Major League Baseball announced that Youkilis will replace Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez on the AL All-Star roster. Rodriguez is among a trio of Yankees along with Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera who were selected to the team, but will not be attending, as they are all battling nagging injuries.

Youkilis entered play on Friday night with a .276 average to go along with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs. It's Youkilis' third All-Star Game appearance.

Texas third baseman Adrian Beltre will take over the starting spot in place of Rodriguez.
