When someone performs poorly in sports the anger and frustration is often directed at someone — or something – else.

From Carlos Zambrano going after teammates in the dugout to Brian Wilson taking batting practice with the water cooler, frustrated athletes are not to be messed with.

Mariners manager Eric Wedge, fed up with his club's 14-game losing streak, took his anger out on his signature mustache prior to Sunday's matinee affair with the Red Sox.

"When you are in a stretch like this, because you have a locker room of guys who care and there's a lot of pride, everything feels a little bit damaged right now," Wedge said after Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Boston.

Wedge's 'stache, clearly responsible for the M's losing streak, felt the rath of the manager's razor a day after captivating viewers who tuned in to see Boston come from behind in the seventh inning to down Seattle.

Somewhere Rollie Fingers weeps.
