Rhode Island's Cumberland American got off to a good start in the New England Little League Regional Tournament, edging Massachusetts champion Andover National, 5-3, on the second day of the event.

The nightcap between Connecticut's Fairfield American (1-0) and Maine's Yarmouth (0-1) was postponed due to rain. They are scheduled to make up the game on Monday, the two teams' scheduled day off.

Both teams will be in action on Sunday, though, with Yarmouth taking on Vermont's Barre Community (0-1) at 11 a.m., and Fairfield American squaring off against New Hampshire's Goffstown (0-1) at 5 p.m.

Pool play is scheduled to finish on Wednesday, with the top four seeds advancing to the single-elimination championship round.
