Glenn Pakulak has been close before. The NFL punter has pursued his love for years, and apart from a few short affairs, he’s never quite gotten the full experience.

Hold on. Did you think I was talking about Pakulak’s football career?

Pakulak — who has made 37 punts in the NFL since 2008 and enters his third training camp with the Oakland Raiders — is one of the subjects in the Bravo reality series Most Eligible Dallas. The 31-year-old part-time punter is also a part-time lover, according to his bio on the show’s website.

“After enduring a four-year relationship that couldn’t survive the long distance, Glenn has realized that he’s nowhere near ready to settle down,” the bio reads. “His effortless charm wins the ladies over; however his ‘two-date maximum’ prevents anyone from getting too close.”

Bravo then proceeds to plagiarize the summary from my LinkedIn profile:

“A guy’s guy with an unusually keen fashion sense, he energetically throws himself into everything he does. With rock-hard abs and a picture perfect smile, Glenn also does some fitness modeling on the side and is in the process of designing his own fashion line.”

Bravo will be hearing from my lawyer. But anyway…

Pakulak is just the the latest in a stream of professional athletes entering the world of reality TV. HBO won plaudits for its Hard Knocks series, athletes have dominated Dancing With The Stars, and Real Housewives led to Basketball Wives.

Pakulak is a questionable choice for Most Eligible, though. His football resume — five teams, 10 games of action, numerous cuts — may reveal he has trouble with commitment or, even worse, getting others to commit to him.

Honestly, though, good luck to him. Hopefully, he finds what he’s looking for in life and love.
