Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney Among Manchester United Figures Featured in New York Times Style Magazine The New York Times Style Magazine recently featured eight popular figures associated with Manchester United in a pages-long photo spread. Players (past and present) posed in some of their own clothes to give fans a glimpse into their own senses of style.

The shoot took place to commemorate Manager Sir Alex Ferguson’s 25 years in charge of the club, which he celebrates in November.

Manchester United figures appearing in the NYT Style Magazine photo spread are:

Cristiano Ronaldo — The Portuguese star left the club in 2009 to join Spanish power Real Madrid. He gives a stoic look in this headshot that would be simple if not for the diamond-studded earrings.

Sir Alex Ferguson –- The legendary manager wears a club blazer with his arms crossed. The pose exposes the wristwatch he uses to keep "Fergie Time."

Rio Ferdinand –- In a full standing shot, Ferdinand gives the classic Rio Ferdinand gaze. He must be wondering if he will be able to keep his place in the team through the season, with young stars chomping at the bit to take the place of the oft-injured defender.

Michael Carrick -– The midfielder plays a deep-lying midfield role for United and England. He appears somewhat shy and uncomfortable with his hands in his pockets.

Wayne Rooney — The explosive striker wears a matching coat, shirt and pants combo. It would not look out of place in a bare-knuckle boxing match in the days of prohibition.

Eric Cantona -– The Frenchman seems enigmatic as ever. It makes one wonder why he's jumping in the picture.

Nemanja Vidic –- The Serbian defender has become the most important piece of the United defense in the last few seasons. He has reason to smile, winning a number of awards for himself and trophies for the club.

Javier "Chicharito" Hernández -– Appears in a club blazer with a pose and a look suggestive of a man who has only begun to scratch the surface of what he can do. Defenders beware.
