Jerry Jones Calls Tony Romo's Efforts Against Jets 'One Of the Best Games I've Ever Seen Him Play' Tony Romo's final numbers in a losing effort against the Jets on Sunday night were pretty good. The quarterback threw for 342 yards and a pair of touchdowns against one of the best defenses in the league. However, Romo once again crumbled in the fourth quarter committing two costly turnovers to help the Jets steal a win.

Romo's boss, however, thinks it may have been No. 9's best effort in a Cowboys uniform.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones had incredible praise for Romo's opening-week efforts when he appeared on his weekly radio appearance on KRLD-FM in Dallas.

"This may draw a little criticism, but I thought Tony played one of the best games I've ever seen him play," Jones said Tuesday, according to USAToday.com. "You can make a big case that the way he played for three quarters was how we got there at the end and looked like for sure we were going to get the win. But he played outstanding."

It's an odd statement from Jones who acknowledges that Romo's efforts was only one for three quarters. Also, it did look like the Cowboys were going to get the win until Romo lost the touch he showed in the game's first three periods. Despite Romo's best LeBron James impression, Jones was still full of praise for the veteran signal-caller.

"He played outstanding," Jones added. "The game has really slowed down for him and that's a good thing."

Jones also added that he thinks Romo is a winner, while also adding that Romo is close to mastering the position.
