Red Sox right-hander Josh Beckett had no major issues during his side session Monday at Fenway Park and could be on track to start during the upcoming series against the Tampa Bay Rays, according to multiple reports.

Beckett has been sidelined since leaving his start last Monday in Toronto with a sprained ankle. This Monday marked his first chance to throw off of a mound.

The Red Sox rotation is in dire need of a Beckett return. In five starts since Tuesday, the starters are 0-3 and have given up 21 earned runs in 21 innings.

The team will announce the future plans for Beckett prior to Tuesday’s game at home against the Blue Jays.
