The so-called quarterback competition in Coral Gables, Fla., lasted less than 24 hours.

University of Miami football coach Al Golden said Tuesday that Jacory Harris, who was suspended by the NCAA for the Hurricanes' season opener for receiving illegal benefits from booster Nevin Shapiro, would "compete here Thursday, Friday, Saturday" for the starting quarterback job. Harris was to push Stephen Morris, who started Miami's 32-24 loss to Maryland, for the spot.

But Harris is listed as the No. 1 quarterback on the depth chart released Wednesday for the Sept. 17 game against Ohio State. No explanation was given, The Associated Press reports.
