Tony Romo Thinks LeBron James Would Be ‘Phenomenal’ NFL Wide Receiver

FOXBORO, Mass. — Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo knows a thing or two about good wide receivers, and he said Wednesday on a conference call that LeBron James has what it takes to succeed on the football field.

James caused a stir Tuesday when he asked an NFL reporter about the league's free agency deadline (there isn't one). James has been vocal about the NBA lockout, and he's appeared in a commercial as a member of the Cleveland Browns.

The chances of James following up on his interest in the NFL are probably extremely slim, but the noted Cowboys fan could create some matchup problems as a wide receiver alongside someone like Dez Bryant.

"I'm sure he'd be phenomenal," said Romo, who knows James in passing. "He's usually pretty good at whatever he does."
