Cars.com is peeling out of this debacle.

According to USA Today, Cars.com has decided to pull its sponsorship from Saturday’s tilt between Penn State and Nebraska on ESPN at 12 p.m. ET.

Ron Hall, the automotive sponsor’s spokesman, issued a statement Thursday night confirming the decision.

“Due to the recent allegations surrounding the Penn State Football program, Cars.com has decided to withdraw from this weekend’s sponsorship of the Nebraska at Penn State game on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 12 p.m.,” read the statement. “As a proud, longtime supporter of ESPN College Football, it’s important to us that we’re building our brand and raising the visibility of our advertisers in a way that celebrates the sport, the dedication of its student athletes and the many reputable universities that field teams. We will still be sponsoring a game this weekend.”

ESPN also announced on Thursday’s SportsCenter that Cars.com was withdrawing its presenting sponsorship of the Penn State-Ohio State game the following week.
