There are no winners in the scandal rocking Penn State, except ticket sellers.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the average price for a ticket to Saturday's Penn State-Nebraska game had more than doubled since Tuesday, CNBC's Darren Rovell reports.

"Fans/brokers are listing this week's Penn State tickets at an avg of $286.96," Rovell tweeted. "[Tuesday] at 1pm ET it was $143.34"

Rovell cites TiqIQ, a secondary ticket website.

It's not clear whether the price increase is related to the developing scandal regarding allegations of sexual misconduct by former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, or Joe Paterno's reported knowledge of the allegations. The timing seems like more than a coincidence, though, since the calls for Paterno's dismissal began to grow louder right around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
