Gregory Campbell in Walking Boot After Taking Shot Off Foot

WILMINGTON, Mass. — Zdeno Chara wasn't the only Bruin missing from practice on Monday. And he's not the only one who might miss Tuesday's game against Los Angeles.

Center Gregory Campbell was also absent from the workout at Ristuccia Arena, and after practice Bruins coach Claude Julien revealed that it was more than just one of the maintenance days frequently given to veterans over the course of the season.

"Soupy took a shot on the foot the other night," Julien said. "So he's also a guy that I would label as questionable for [Tuesday]. Certainly he didn't feel very good [Monday], but he's a tough individual."
Julien wasn't sure if Campbell had undergone x-rays or not since being hurt blocking a shot in Columbus on Saturday.

"He's in a walking boot right now," Julien said. "[He's] limping and he had treatment here [Monday] morning, so I don't know exactly what the final verdict is other than they told me he was questionable [for Tuesday]."

Daniel Paille did return to practice after missing Saturday's game with a mild concussion suffered on a hit from Florida's Krys Barch on Thursday. Paille hopes to be available for Tuesday's game, but has not been cleared yet. He still needs to take and pass a neuro-psych test before being allowed to return.

With both Campbell and Paille questionable for Tuesday, the Bruins may need to summon help from their AHL affiliate in Providence. Boston is currently carrying just one extra forward, with Jordan Caron filling in for Paille on Saturday. They would need another healthy body if both Campbell and Paille are out.

"I think that's something we're going to look at either later [Monday] or [Tuesday] morning," Julien said. "If need be, we will be calling somebody up."

Zach Hamill has been recalled once already this season and did not look out of place, chipping in an assist and a plus-3 in two games. Hamill, who has been shifted to wing this season, has 7-7-14 in 25 games with Providence and would likely be first in line for another recall if needed. Carter Camper leads Providence with 6-12-18 totals in 27 games and could be a possibility, and with the Bruins potentially needed fourth-line help, Lane MacDermid (2-5-7, 67 PIMs) could be an option as well.
