Report: Dolphins Fire Tony Sparano, Todd Bowles Expected to Take Over as Head CoachThe Miami Dolphins are in the midst of a franchise overhaul, and it cost head coach Tony Sparano his job on Monday.

ESPN.com reports that Sparano has been fired as head coach of the Dolphins. Assistant head coach Todd Bowles, who also served as the secondary coach, will take over on an interim basis, according to the report.

The Dolphins are also expected to hire Carl Peterson to take over as vice president of baseball operations. Peterson is the former president of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sparano will exit Miami with a 29-32 record. The Dolphins started this season 0-7, but had recently turned things around some, winning four of five before losing to the Eagles in Miami on Sunday.

The Dolphins had just one winning season under Sparano. That came in 2008 when Miami won the AFC East during Sparano's first season as head coach.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley was also fired Monday.
