Vote: Will Sidney Crosby Lead NHL in Points This Season?Sidney Crosby is back, and based on his early performances, he's as good as ever.

The Penguins' 24-year-old center has shown no ill effects from the head injuries that sidelined him for 11 months, scoring 11 points in his first six games back on the ice. At this pace, Crosby would finish with more than 100 points this season, more than enough to lead the league in the category.

As a reference point for how blistering Crosby's pace is, consider that league leader Phil Kessel of the Maple Leafs has 32 points in 25 games. Despite leading the league, he's only on pace for 73 points.

It's often unrealistic to expect players to continue their "pace." Just a month ago, the Bruins were on a last-place pace and David Krejci was on pace to be one of Boston's lowest-scoring players. Now, both the team and the player are looking forward to three more fruitful years together.

Still, this is Sid the Kid. He's put together jaw-dropping performances before, and nobody knows better than Boston fans what a star player can do in just 50 games. Cam Neely, after all, needed just 44 games in 1993-94 to reach 50 goals.

Crosby has 56 games left to work his magic.
