Seydou Keita 'Flattered' By Liverpool Link, Barcelona Midfielder Will Decide Future After SeasonSeydou Keita is not worried about his uncertain future. The FC Barcelona midfielder knows that a number of top clubs would like to sign him, and he’s “flattered” by Liverpool’s reported interest, according to SkySports.

“I am flattered by the interest of Liverpool Football Club, one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Keita said. “However, let’s wait until the end of the season with Barcelona and see what happens.

“I love Barcelona and it is difficult to find a better team than them, but I am ambitious and want to play football week in, week out. A challenge somewhere else is attractive to me and Liverpool are a top team with very good players.”

Keita has been an important player in the all-conquering Barcelona teams of recent years. Since joining the club from Sevilla in 2008, he has won three-straight La Liga (first division) titles, as well as two UEFA Champions League and two FIFA Club World Cup crowns.

But last summer’s addition of Cesc Fabregas has seen Keita’s playing time gradually dwindle, and he may look to switch clubs during the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old does not have many years left as a professional soccer player, and he wants to play regular games while he still can.

Keita wouldn’t be guaranteed a place in Liverpool’s crowded midfield, but he might play more than he would at Barcelona. He would also join a squad that is competing for trophies.
