If you’re going to allegedly stalk the general manager of the New York Yankees, you better hope that if you get jail time, you spend it somewhere like Boston. At the very least, you have to make sure you avoid Rikers Island.

Just ask Louise Meanwell.

She’s being held in a New York City jail on Rikers Island on $300,000 bail in the midst of her trial after she was arrested in January for allegedly stalking Yankees general manager Brian Cashman. Meanwell is being accused of extorting $6,000 out of Cashman and attempting to get $15,000 more out of the same man who gives out lucrative contracts while overseeing the richest franchise in baseball.

While the trial continues, Meanwell says she’s “in hell” on Rikers Island where she’s surrounded by Yankees fans everywhere she turns.

“It’s horrible in here,” she told the New York Post. “They throw liquids on me and spit on me. They call me names. They call me a stalker. I’m in hell. It’s just awful.”

This should come as no surprise to anyone who has sat in the bleachers at Yankee Stadium where Yankees fans have been known to throw liquids and spit on fans of the opposing team.

The trial is ongoing, and Meanwell is expected to return to the stand on Tuesday. When she does, she’s hoping she’ll be able to convince the grand jury of her side of the story.

“He needs me out of the way. He’s just trying to bulldoze anyone out of the way that interferes with his public appearance,” she told the Post, while also calling the same man who dressed as an elf to raise money for charity “vindictive and evil.”

A lot of words come to mind when you look at the picture, but does “evil” or “vindictive” really come to mind?
