Australian singer Kylie Minogue and actor Will Smith join a series of celebrities — including Jackie Chan and Pele — who will carry the Olympic torch in the UK before the 2012 Summer Olympics.

"This is one of the greatest events Great Britain has hosted, and only the best stars in the world are going to be there. We need people that are cultural icons in their respective countries to really serve as ambassadors," a source told the Daily Mirror.

"The relay of the torch will be an overwhelming event for the Olympic campaign because of the caliber of people involved. It is going to be incredible."

Those will not be the only celebrities present during the games, as soccer player and official ambassador David Beckham said he hopes his wife, Victoria Beckham, will unite with the rest of the Spice Girls — Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisolm, Gerry Halliwell and Emma Bunton — to open the ceremonies.

"She is a busy girl. The games mean a lot to me, and I would love for her to be there. I'm not going to force her to do it, but I will try and we'll see," said Beckham.

Unfortunately, Victoria and the rest of the group members have made it clear they are not planning any sort of reunion.
