Report: Joba Chamberlain Dislocates Ankle Playing on Trampoline With Son, No Time Frame for Return

Report: Joba Chamberlain Dislocates Ankle Playing on Trampoline With Son, No Time Frame for ReturnJoba Chamberlain got another bad break on Thursday, with this one coming in a pretty literal form.

YES Network's Jack Curry reports that the Yankees right-hander dislocated his right ankle while playing with his son on a trampoline. Curry spoke to Cashman about what sounds like a gruesome injury, and the Yankees general manager told Curry that it was an "open dislocation" that will have Chamberlain in the hospital for a few days.

Cashman wasn't able to give Curry a time frame for any sort of return, but he did mention that it was a significant injury. Cashman indicated that he doesn't think it was a career-threatening injury, telling Curry, "I'd'like to say no [to it being career-threatening]. My heart and my gut tell me no."

It's obviously a big setback for Chamberlain who was on his way back from Tommy John surgery.
