MLB Could Learn a Thing or Two From NFL When It Comes to Opening DayThursday is Opening Day in Major League Baseball. Or wait, was that Wednesday in Miami? Actually, was it technically last week in Japan?

MLB opens in the majority of its cities on Thursday, but it's not the first day of regular season business for the league. The A's and Mariners opened up in Japan last week, and the Marlins opened their new stadium against the defending world champion Cardinals on Wednesday night.

There will still be plenty of excitement across the country for baseball to be back, but MLB should probably look to take a page out of the NFL's book when it comes to kicking off seasons.
