Metta World Peace is in trouble with the NBA for the first time since he was Ron Artest.

The NBA has yet to rule on what appeared to be an intentional World Peace elbow to the head of Oklahoma City's James Harden on Sunday afternoon.

It's expected by most that the NBA will rule that there certainly was intent on World Peace's part, but the Lakers forward has said otherwise since the incident occurred.

"I got real emotional and excited, and it was unfortunate that James had to get hit with the unintentional elbow," he said after the game on Sunday. "I hope he's OK. Oklahoma, they're playing for a championship this year. I apologize to the Thunder and James Harden. It was just unfortunate."

He also claimed that the elbow wasn't an intentional act, rather an unfortunately timed mistake in World Peace's celebration following the dunk.
