Many players had a big hand in keeping the series going until a final and deciding seventh game capped things off on Wednesday night. The Capitals may have walked away with the series in a thrilling 2-1 overtime win, but there were plenty of heroes along the way for both sides.

The play of both goaltenders was superb throughout the series, as Tim Thomas displayed some of the same playoff form that brought the Stanley Cup to Boston in 2011. Thomas was vital to all three Bruins victories in the series, impressing once again with a 2.18 GAA and .922 save percentage.

On the other side of the ice, rookie netminder Braden Holtby had an impressive coming out party, posting a 2.17 GAA and saving 93.5 percent of Bruins shots.

With each game decided by a single goal throughout the series, neither team did a ton of scoring. But there were a few bright spots on each roster that stood out offensively.

Rich Peverley helped the Bruins to find their offensive mojo during the seven-game set, scoring a team-high five points with three goals and a pair of assists. Alex Ovechkin provided the spark for Washington, netting a a couple big goals and dishing out three assists of his own to energize the Capitals top line.

Defensively there wasn't a better player in this series than Dennis Seidenberg. The burly defenseman dished out some big hits, helping to contain Ovechkin and Caps' forward Alexander Semin throughout. Seidenberg helped out on offense as well, handing out a pair of assists and even netting a goal of his own.

There's so many great players and performances to choose from, but who do you think was the MVP of the series?
