Two men were hospitalized after they were beaten by a group of five or six assailants. One remains in critical condition, according to the Star-Ledger.
Alfredo Lopez and his brother Raymundo Lopez were the victims in the attacks, which took place at the $1.6 billion facility.
“The two men were apparently walking through the parking lot after the match when they approached a group of men near a vehicle that [State Police seargent] Polite described as a ‘low-rider,'” the report says. “The brothers tapped on the vehicle, urging the driver to use the car’s hydraulic system to make it ‘bounce,’ Polite said, but that led a group of five or six men to chase both victims through the parking lot.
“When the assailants caught up with the brothers, Alfredo Lopez was struck in the head with a glass bottle and kicked and punched several times.”
Police could provide no further details about the assailants.
Sunday’s attack was the second serious incident at the East Rutherford, N.J. facility this month. On May 12, a man was killed after two cars and a motorcycle were involved in a high-speed collision on stadium property.
