A Red Sox' top five of Jacoby Ellsbury, Carl Crawford, Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz and Adrian Gonzalez would be a formiddable challenge for any opposing pitcher to face — if all five were healthy at the same time.

Bobby Valentine hasn't had the luxury of having his top five hitters together at any point this season, but that should change once Ortiz returns from his Achilles injury. Ortiz has been making improvements in his rehab recently, Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Hear what Abraham, Peter Gammons and Dale Arnold have to say about Ortiz's comeback from injury and how the Red Sox can get their power back on Red Sox Gameday Live Presented by UNO.
