Kevin Durant’s Grandmother Tells Him to Stop Swearing on Court Via Text Message (Photo)

Of course Kevin Durant‘s grandmother likes watching the Thunder forward play, and she even sends him congratulatory texts after the game. But she wishes her grandson would stop swearing on the court.

Durant’s grandma sent him a text after Monday night’s Oklahoma City win over the Phoenix Suns that ended with “Kev kev stop cussing so much they be showing u when u do.” Durant posted a screenshot of the text on Instagram with the caption “Sorry grandma lol.”

Durant finished the game with 41 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two assists. The 40-point effort was his second in three games.

Durant got ejected for the first time in his career on Jan. 2 for cursing at NBA official Dan Crawford. He’s been acting out more in general this season, as he drew three technical fouls in three games that week.

Durant’s penalties, nor the scolding from his grandmother have affected his game. The Oklahoma City forward third in the NBA with 28.9 points per game. He’s also averaging 7.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists on the season. The Thunder are first in the Western Conference with a 30-8 record.

Quote of the Day

“For kickers, I think you have to be able to manage the situation, and once you step out across those white lines it’s kind of like a twilight zone and you go to a different place. You go somewhere else. It’s kind of like Happy Gilmore, you just try to go to a happy place.”
