1381201774_221The Rays lived to fight another day on Monday night, beating the Red Sox with some late-inning dramatics.

The Red Sox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, striking first with one run to start off the game, and adding two more in the fifth inning. But with one swing of the bat, Evan Longoria erased the deficit, and knotted the score up at 3-3 with a towering home run in the bottom of the fifth.

The Rays grabbed a one-run lead in the eighth, but the never-say-die Sox came right back and put up a run to knot up the score once again in the ninth. With the game looking like it was destined for extra innings, Jose Lobaton extended Tampa Bay’s season, drilling a walk-off home run right into the Tropicana Field tank.

With their backs against the wall, the Rays were able to stave off elimination and force a Game 4. Jake Peavy will take the mound on Tuesday, battling Jeremy Hellickson, and hoping to be the man that leads the Sox in punching their ticket to the ALCS.
