A scary scene ensued at Reliant Stadium after Texans head coach Gary Kubiak collapsed on the field right before halftime of Sunday night’s matchup against the Colts.

As the teams were leaving the field, Kubiak fell to the ground and was immediately tended to by medical personnel before being stretchered off the field and taken to a local hospital.

According to NBC’s Michelle Tafoya, who was reporting on the field, the head coach appeared to be sitting up and talking. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, who will take over coaching duties in the second half, told Tafoya that the trip to the hospital was precautionary.

The Houston Texans also provided encouraging news about Kubiak, tweeting that he was conscious at a local hospital and his family is with him.
